Patrimonializar as pinturas murais da cidade de Lisboa na época do Estado Novo

Abstract

Esta Tese centra-se na musealização das pinturas murais na época do Estado Novo na cidade de Lisboa de particular relevância histórica e museológica. Pretende-se assim relacionar a museologia com o património mural, tendo como base a identificação dos locais de pintura mural, bem como os edifícios onde estas estão inseridas, analisando a sua perspetiva histórica, os seus autores/encomendadores e o enquadramento sociocultural que prevaleceu outrora e hoje. Para a disseminação do conhecimento sobre a arte mural no “modernismo” nacional, teve-se em consideração toda a envolvente “sacralizada” – significado ideológico - e “dessacralizada” dos objetos em estudo e que refletem a sua componente bibliográfica, simbólica e visual, bem como o todo um processo de transmissão de conhecimentos, heranças e memórias coletivas e que são a base da nova museologia social e interdisciplinar. Particular relevância deve ser tida em conta para as imagens (fotografias) que acompanham esta Tese e que refletem a procura do autor pelas mesmas no seu espaço-tempo local e virtual, bem como um levantamento sobre o seu estado de conservação atual, das suas técnicas artísticas, envolvente e da bibliografia e biografia dos autores que as criaram. Pode-se assim concluir que o estudo realizado é uma contribuição para a musealização de uma época onde se destacou a pintura mural moderna, esperando-se acima de tudo que este possa vir a contribuir para um maior envolvimento das comunidades naquilo que é o seu (re)conhecimento identitário e as suas memórias.

This thesis focuses on the musealization of the murals paitings at the period of Estado Novo in the City of Lisbon and of historical and museological relevance. The aim is to relate museology with the mural heritage, based on the identification of buildings and where mural sites were inserted, analyzing their historical perspective, the authors/commissioners and the sociocultural environment that prevailed once and nowadays. For the dissemination of knowledge about the wall art during the national "modernism", considered all the surrounding "sacralized" - ideological significance - and "desecrated" of the objects under study reflecting their literature, symbolic and visual component, and the whole process of transmission of knowledge, heritage and collective memories and which are the basis of social and interdisciplinary museology. Attention should be considered for the images (photographs) accompanying this Thesis that reflect the author's search for them in site and virtual space-time, as well as a survey of their current conservation status, their artistic techniques, engaging into the bibliography and biography of the authors who created them. One can thus conclude that the study is a contribution to the musealization of a time where modern mural was excelled, hoping above all that this is likely to contribute to a greater involvement of the communities in what is their (re)identity’s knowledge and memories.
